Waterlines being replaced on Empire Road

Work crews are replacing waterlines on the Empire Road near Drummond Switch Cutoff Road. A spokesman from Jasper Water Works said the new lines will replace old lines serving the Empire area.

Senate Majority Leader Greg Reed (R-Jasper) announced Wednesday that the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) has awarded a grant of $378,605 to the Walker County Children’s Advocacy Center, a non-profit that serves children and adolescents who are the victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse or who have witnessed violent crimes.
