Local officials turned out Thursday for the ribbon cutting for the new Alacare office on Industrial Parkway in Jasper, which the company started working from on April 23. Susan Brouillette, the chief executive officer of Alacare (www.alacare.com), said the home health and hospice business has had an office in Jasper for 35 years, mostly on Highway 118. She said officials saw opportunities with the old Reed Mining office, as it had a better floor plan for growth and staff needs, as well as being close to U.S. Interstate 22 to respond to patients across the county. The square footage increased from about 4,500 square feet to approximately 7,000 square feet.
