Cordova City Councilman Larry Sides was the guest speaker at Cordova High School's Veterans Day program on Friday. Sides served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and lost three high school friends — Larry Black, Jerry Higgins and Sammy Smith — in the war. He later served in the National Guard and U.S. Army Reserves. CHS history instructor and Coach Tyler Kuykendall also set up a display on the auditorium stage of military uniforms, most of which were donated by CHS graduates who have served.
