Local clubs have been showing support for the Salvation Army's Red Kettle campaign this week. At Memorial Park School,  third graders involved in the Kind Kids Club have been ringing the bell each morning during bus duty. The school requested the kettle for one week so students could learn the importance of giving. Manning the kettle was the club's service project for the month of December. Members of Kiwanis Club of Jasper and Rotary Club of Jasper have been in a friendly competition to find out which one can get the most kettle donations. Kiwanis Club representatives made a sizable donation to  their kettle in front of Walmart on Wednesday afternoon. At the  other Walmart entrance, Greg Ellis enlisted the help of his daughters to help him greet customers and pass out candy canes to those who gave a donation.
