Three Jasper High School students were named part of the school's ACT 30+ Club at the Jasper City Board of Education meeting Monday. From left to right, Colton Hall, Ivey-Elise Ivey and Dayton Talley have all earned a 30 or higher on the ACT. The highest score a student can receive is a 36. High ACT scores can help students earn full ride scholarships to colleges and universities. Over 20 Jasper High students have earned ACT scores of 30 or greater.

Ashley and Jeremy Harbin of Harbins in downtown Jasper recently worked with Pre-K students at T.R. Simmons Elementary to teach gardening skills, in honor of this week's Earth Day celebrations. "They’ve been learning about flowers and taking care of our Earth," the Harbins wrote on Facebook. "We helped wrap up this unit by painting garden rocks, planting flowers, and cleaning up around the playground."

Regional Air Medical Services visited Curry Elementary School on Tuesday. Head Start, Pre-K and kindergarten students got to interact with RAMS workers and were educated about what their jobs entail. They also learned about the importance of the RAMS helicopter and gained safety tips.
